COMMENTSGrant, Industry & Commerce, Tue 21 Jul 09You should point out the entire circumstances of your redundancy, so as not to focus entirely on your own part. Add your comment »SOS, Information Technology, Tue 21 Jul 09It's easily if you were a back-office worker at a huge bank, part of a big cut effecting 1000s of people. then you can argue that it was just cost-cutting, lack of deal flow from the front office. revenue generators, however, don't have it so easy Add your comment »Ho, Information Technology, Tue 21 Jul 09If you unemployed, be thankful to even have an interview. banks will only give interviews to employed candidates who they judge NOT to be underperformers, so half the battle is already one Add your comment »2 cents, HR & Recruitment, Wed 22 Jul 09Any decent recruiter / HR business partner would do some kind of reference (plus it's a small market and people talk anyway!) so there's no point lying if you were let go based on performance.
jjlee123, Fri 24 Jul 09How do you know if you were let go due to performance when companies don't even state the reason? Add your comment »Pearl, Asset Management, Fri 24 Jul 09I have been to some interviews, some of the interviewers were very understanding. As senior managers themselves, they know there are many reasons to be made redundant in addition to being a poor performer. Such as they field you were in won't come back in the next 3-5 years, you are so much stronger than your boss in every aspect. I fouced on the prospect of my line of business. I may not have worked, because I am still un-employed. Add your comment »
